ACT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Well the ACT BMX State Championships are over for another year and congratulations to all our ACT Plate holders for 2010, hope you wear your Title proudly and hope to see you back next year.
To say BMX is like a big family was really confirmed to me during the 3 days of racing in the ACT. Atrocious conditions for practice and racing on Friday and Saturday mornings UCI events before the sun finally shown through for the ACT Titles. There were many hands from so many people to help the locals out. This support included everything from track maintenance, first aid, security and of course those tirelessly working as Officials for this years events, to all of you a big thankyou from us here in the ACT.
Our supporters who included for the first time this year Red Bull and being part of the Canberra Festival through Events ACT for Canberra’s 97th Birthday. You guys make putting on events like ours and bringing World Class BMX to the ACT a little easier and hope to see your support continue for the foreseeable future.
To those injured during our events we wish you all a speedy recovery and those of you have came from far and wide we hope you had a safe return journey and retain fond memories of your visit to the ACT and being part of our Event in 2010 and consider returning for 2011 to see us challenge ourselves to put on an even bigger event.
To the ACT BMX A Committee and the ACT BMX Community, a sincere thankyou for your support to conduct this great event and hopefully see your continued support for the growth of our Sport here in the ACT.

2010 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST SOUGHT – CYCLE SKILLS COURSE FEB 2010 IN THE ACT
Could anyone interested in doing a Cycle Skills Course please contact Miekel Rose via email at rosetribe@bigpond.com to allow ACT BMX to evaluate the level of interest in the BMX Community to run such a course before seeking expression of interest from other pedal sports in the ACT. Cost for this course is $130.
Cycle Skill is the entry level course for all Coaches under the Cycling Australia umbrella i.e. BMX, MTB, track cycling, road cycling etc. The Cycle Skills course is specifically targeted at the coach who desires to assist novice cyclists in the areas of bicycle skills, road worthiness, the correct choice and fitting of cycling equipment and optimising bicycle set-up using existing equipment and the first step to higher level coaching accreditation.

ACT Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month, to enable us to bring any issues up from the clubs monthly meetings which happen on the 1st and 2nd weeks. Any club member is welcome to come and put forward their views and ideas to progress the sport.
